About Me:
My name is Dave Sauriol and I am a Toronto basketball enthusiast, researcher and thinker. While I have enjoyed immensely consuming the basketball content of others I have decided that I wanted to start producing content also. The simple reason being, I want to engage people with my own blend of analytics, intellectual, and narrative fused basketball articles.
Previously, I have done NBA project work for NBA and G League teams and I am currently the co-instructor of the Sports Management Worldwide Basketball GM & Scouting class with former NBA General Manager and current New York Knicks director of player personnel Mark Warkentien. Beyond that experience, I simply want an open venue to express my basketball thoughts and publish them and 50 40 90 is it.
About 50 40 90:
Recently, I created a player evaluation system called the Sauriol Success Matrix (SSM). I have created two articles that appeared on basketball analyst Dean Oliver’s website. I wanted to have a place to publish and elicit feedback for future works related to the SSM. Additionally, I wanted to create a website where I can locate quality basketball thinkers that presently do not have a platform to express their views, and give them one.
As I am a Toronto guy there will be a focus, at least somewhat towards, the Raptors. Future elements of the site may come to include a Raptors weekly roundup. With that said however, overall basketball thinking will be central focus. I like employing deep thinking to uncover different dynamics of basketball and 50 40 90 will consistently show that.
